Coltsfoot and Natural Hair

Coltsfoot also known as Tussilago Farfara, is a flower from the daisy family which has been used for medicinal purposes for years. Coltsfoot is known to treat: sore throat, gout, flu, fever, and respiratory problems like asthma, bronchitis, wheezing, and laryngitis.

Coltsfoot is packed with mucilage, silica, minerals, sulfur, and plant proteins. As well as antioxidant, antitussive, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties are known to help treat scalp conditions such as dandruff.

It contains a high amount of mucilage, which provides an abundance of slip to the hair. This is great for detangling, because the slimy texture makes the hair strands slippery, and the hair soft. This allows the hair strands to glide past each other, making the separation and removal of hair tangles and knots much easier. Also, mucilage binds to the proteins to make the hair strands look thicker.

Silica is essential because it forms collagen. Collagen is a protein found in our bones, skin, and hair, which provides strength. Silica delivers essential nutrients to the hair follicles, which strengthens weak and damaged hair, prevents hair thinning, and provides sheen and body to the appearance of the hair shafts.

Other benefits:

*Improves elasticity
*Repairs the hair shafts
*Promotes hair growth
*Strengthens hair strands
*Helps to reduce breakage and hair loss
