10 DIY Natural Handmade Beauty Products That Anyone Can Make in Less Than 5 Minutes!

I put together this collection of simple, straightforward homemade natural cosmetics recipes for you to try. The best part is that most of them have ingredients you already have at home, so you can easily customise them by substituting ingredients for those that would work best for your skin type.

There is no reason not to try them!

FOR THE FACE

1 -> Face Green clay mask
Suitable for oily and combination skin, acne-prone or an occasional breakout.

Needed ingredients:
20 g Green clay powder
5-10 g Green tea
A few drops teaspoon Jojoba oil

Brew a cup of green tea, allowing the tea bag to soak for at least 10 minutes so it is very strong.
Mix 20 g Green clay powder with 5-10 g Green tea until smooth paste forms. Metal utensils are not recommended as clay doesn’t like metal.
Apply the mask on a clean face, avoiding the eye area, décolleté, back or wherever you wish.
Allow to completely dry 20-30 minutes. Wash off with warm water. Apply a moisturiser.

2 -> Avocado honey face mask
Suitable for Normal, Dry and Mature skin
Needed ingredients:
1/4 normal-size avocado
1 teaspoon of honey

Mash the avocado with a fork until you get a smooth paste. Add the honey and stir thoroughly.
Apply a thin layer of face mask to the freshly cleansed skin of the face and neck. Avoid the eyes area.
Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water afterwards. Apply a moisturiser to the skin after removing the mask.

3 -> Gentle oat face scrub
Suitable for all skin types
Needed ingredients: ½ cup of oats, 2 spoons of white or brown sugar, ½ teaspoon of almond oil, water

Add 1/2 cup of oats to a food processor and pulse until finely ground. Chunky oats will be more exfoliating and fine ground oats will be more gentle. In a bowl add the finely ground oats, sugar, almond oil and a few drops of water and mix well.
To use your scrub, wet your face and gently massage it into your face. This scrub can also be used on the body! Rinse completely and then follow up with your everyday moisturiser.

4 -> Sweet Lip Scrub
Suitable for dry and chapped lips.
Needed ingredients:
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp honey
1/2 tsp coconut oil

Combine all three ingredients together until evenly blended. Massage the mixture into your lips and leave for a few minutes. The goal here is to help your lips, not hurt them, and rubbing too hard can create micro-tears. Gently wipe off with a wet washcloth, and pat dry. Apply your favourite lip balm.

5 -> Easy everyday lip balm
Needed ingredients:
10 g beeswax
10 g cocoa butter
10 g coconut oil
1 g Vitamin E

Measure beeswax, cocoa butter and coconut oil and put in the top of a double boiler. Let them melt over low heat in your double boiler until completely combined. Remove from heat and add Vitamin E. Pour into lip balm tube or a tin.

FOR THE BODY

6 -> Relaxing Lavender Bath Shot
Needed ingredients:
150g Epsom salt
Lavender dry flowers
2g Lavender essential oil
Glass tube or any jar you have.

Add the lavender essential oil to the Epsom salt and mix well. Start by adding a layer of salt into the jar, then add a layer of dry lavender flowers, continue with another layer of salt, and so forth.
The salts will dissolve in the bathwater. However, plant materials, such as dried lavender flowers, do not. To protect your drains from clogging, put a fine-mesh drain cover over the plughole when you empty the tub to catch them.

7 -> Easy Coffee body scrub
Needed ingredients:
1 cup of coffee beans
1/2 cup coconut oil (melted or soft)
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Use a coffee grinder to grind the coffee beans. Mix the coffee with 1/2 cup of coconut oil and ground cinnamon. Ground cinnamon will give a warming effect on the skin.
Take a small amount of body scrub and apply in circular motion to massage and rub into your skin. Rinse off with warm water in the shower. Use a drain catcher to collect grounds from going down the drain.

8 -> Dry skin body butter bar
Needed ingredients:
40g Cocoa butter
60g Coconut oil
40g Beeswax

Weight and melt the ingredients in the top of a double boiler. Transfer the oil into the desired mould. Let it set and once the butter has become hard transfer it into a container. After shower just rub the butter bar over the surface of your skin.

9 -> Detox foot soak
Vinegar has antimicrobial properties and soaking the feet in a vinegar bath for 10 to 20 minutes may help to kill the bacteria or fungi contributing towards foot odour.

Needed ingredients:
Vinegar
Epsom salt
Tea Tree Essential oil

Fill a bowl with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts warm water. Add a few drops of tea tree essential oil. Soak feet for 15-20 minutes daily in the mixture. Do not soak for longer than 30 minutes.

FOR THE HAIR

10 -> All hair types Avocado mask
Coconut oil is easily absorbed into the hair while minerals in avocado oil, including potassium and magnesium, may seal cuticle cells, which can help hair look smooth and shiny and prevent it from breaking.

Needed ingredients:
1 avocado
2 tablespoons of coconut oil

Mash the avocado with a fork until you get a smooth paste. Add the coconut oil and stir thoroughly.
Apply the mask from roots to tip. Leave on for 30-60 minutes and wash off with shampoo.
